Objects that Withdraw

...the project explores a speculative scenario where Things see other Things. Objects enhanced with 3D vision - by means of a Kinect camera - become their own researchers and designers. However, rather than replicate themselves they exploit glitches and errors – a virus in the system - to make each of them unique. Using a research artifact – an infected mug - questions of Object agency are tackled. We reflect upon the notion of constant surveillance and explore how the tangible interfaces modulate information across physical and digital domains... ...the glitch- virus- is digitally ‘cultured’ and studied in the form of a differential growth algorithm following additive and subtractive patterns...
